STORYTIME
GUIDELINES
Library storytimes are often a child's first "live performance" experience. With this in mind, it can be tricky at first for your child to know what to expect and how to act. Storytimes are interactive and we want everyone to have fun, but here are some guidelines so everyone gets the most from Storytime.
1. Sit, sing, & listen to stories together. The more you participate in storytime, the more children will participate,
enjoy, and learn from storytime. We recommend children under the age of 6 sit with their caregiver.
2. Please be timely.
Storytimes are short and every minute is full of fun and learning opportunities.
3. Don't be afraid to leave.
Some days children aren't in the
right mood for storytime. If a child is having a bad day or becomes disruptive, please feel free to take a break and try again another day.
4. Please enjoy your food, toys, conversations, and cell phones after storytime.
This is time for your child to not only learn new material from the rhymes, movements, and stories, but to learn how to behave through your good example.
There is no registration for programs. All programs are first come, first served.
